Having been favoured with the personal request of His Excellency the Governor and Plenipotentiary to furnish a statement of particulars connected with my late imprisonment, I have the honour to forward the same to you for inspection:
Having arrived at Macao, by the steamer "Canton" in the afternoon of Thursday, June 7th about ½ past 5 o'Clock, after taking some refreshments on shore at five, I went on shore about six o'Clock, walked along the Praya Grande, and then turning up a street, presently proceeded to the House of A. R. Johnston, Esq., Secretary, Diplomatic Department.
